For a limited time, Bloggled.com is giving free blog backup to bloggers. Just out of beta, Bloggled.com is celebrating the holidays, and their new site with free blog backup and other freebies.

Salt Lake City, Utah December 15, 2008 — The business idea for a blog backup service, started with a disaster. Long-time blogger and wife of Brent Ramey, who co-owns the new site Bloggled accidentally deleted her blog on the popular blog service Blogger. Years of writing, along with hundreds of pictures, blog comments, and blog posts were gone in an instant. She was devastated. Bloggled.com wants to prevent it from happening to anyone else. To celebrate the end of their beta site and to introduce blog backup and other services for bloggers, Bloggled is offering free blog backups (for a limited time).

As Bloggled grows there will be options to backup blogs for free. This includes Wordpress blogs, Typepad blogs, Live Journal blogs, and blogs on other blogging platforms. For each, the process will be simple and non-technical.

“Backing up a blog is easy on Bloggled.com. Set up an account, put in your blog URL, click backup, and in minutes your blog will be saved. You can save different versions and go to any older version of your blog you choose to. It saves everything, including comments, and it does it automatically every week,” said Brent Ramey, Co-owner. Blogs can also be set up to be backed up manually, as often as needed.

As we spend more time online, for business and for our personal life, there’s a lot of valuable information about us online that’s not backed up. We update our blogs, communicate with friends on Facebook, tweet, or do business online. These activities represent who we are. Bloggled.com has a simple goal - to make sure that information is never lost. At launch, the company has blog backup services, but is adding new features to safeguard information online. Coming next is a service to publish a blog to a book, and services to backup profiles on other web sites like Facebook or Twitter.
